How to Shop Replacement Slings for Patio Chairs
Are your sling patio chairs in need of an upgrade? This guide will show you how to go about rejuvenating your patio set. Before you order replacement slings for your patio chairs, there are a few things you need to consider. You need to make sure you know which type of chair you’re working with and you need to be able to measure it.
Step 1: Determine which type of chair you have.
There are 2 types of sling patio chairs and it’s really easy to distinguish which type you have!
The first type has a separate seat and backrest, and the second type has just one piece of fabric. Once you know which type you have, you need to grab a measuring tape and a pen and paper.
Step 2: Measure the slings before you shop.
Don’t remove the old fabric from the chair because you need to take a few measurements first. Firstly, measure the visible portion of the fabric only.
Take a measurement of the width at the top and the bottom of the chair. Ensure that you place the measuring tape a few inches below the top and a few inches above the bottom because sometimes the rails veer out. Next, measure the length of the rail from the top to the bottom. If your chair has two pieces of fabric, you also need to repeat this process for the seat.
Finally, measure the sling rod. This is the plastic stick that goes on the rails, inside the sling. We have 2 sizes – ¼ inch and 7/32 inch. Once you have your measurements, you need to select, which fabric you would like.
Step 3: Determine which fabric you would like.
There are so many color options to choose from that it might take you quite a while to decide. We carry Textilene and Phifertex sling fabrics on our online shop because they are both excellent heavy duty fabrics.

Lastly, a few things to remember before you purchase...
When placing your order, you need to make sure you choose the correct size of the fabric. It is important that you measure correctly but also that you input the measurements correctly. You will see on the website that there are different drop down boxes to select when placing your order. These are rod size, back length, back width, seat length, seat top width, and seat bottom width. If you measure correctly and input those on your order correctly, you should have the fabric arrive at your home in no time!
